What it does
Lets judicial authorities in one Member State order service providers in another to produce or preserve electronic evidence, such as subscriber, traffic and content data, directly and within tight deadlines. Non-EU providers offering services in the EU must appoint a designated establishment or legal representative to receive orders.

- Electronic communications services, domain name and IP services, and information society services offered in the EU, including providers established outside the EU.
- Penalties
- Fines of up to 2% of total worldwide annual turnover of the preceding financial year for non-compliance with orders.
